Vice President of China Development
Jim is the Vice President of China Development for Centurylink based in Hong Kong. Jim has 25 years of experience in data center, hosting and telecom businesses spanning business development, design and construction of data centers, product, accounting and finance roles. In his current role, he has completed the formation of the company’s China legal entity, has grown partnerships with China companies that enable Centurylink’s data center business in China and sold hosting services in China to global multi-national customers of Centurylink. Prior to this, Jim was the Vice President of Colocation Business Development for Centurylink in Denver, United States. In 2014, he completed partnerships with IO Data Centers adding 10MW of data center capacity in the Phoenix, U.S. market, with Switch Data Centers in Las Vegas, U.S. market, and with NextDC in Australia allowing Centurylink to provide data center services in 5 Australian markets.Jim was previously responsible for Centurylink data center construction completing 23 data center projects adding 300,000 raised floor square feet and 20MW of power to Centurylink’s portfolio. He was also the VP of Colocation Product Management at Savvis leading a 50% growth in Colo revenue over 3 years. Prior to Savvis, Jim worked at Qwest Communications in various finance and product roles in Denver and Amsterdam. He began his career working for Deloitte in Detroit.
