Director, Institutional Technology
Bob is responsible for core record keeping systems at TIAA-CREF in addition to overall production support for institutional retirement for more than 16,000 institutions and managing over 30,000 plans.
Prior to joining TIAA-CREF Bob was a partner and managing director for 451 Advisors of 451 Research LLC. The focus of his work was with large enterprises on the alignment of stakeholders and business strategies with global technology capability and delivery. This often involved technology trends from the various research disciplines but also expertise from The Uptime Institute in the area of datacenters.
Before joining the 451 Group Bob was the global data center portfolio manager for Morgan Stanley working with various capacity fulfillment models across owned, leased and colocation facilities including modular data center designs and fulfillment. Prior to moving to Morgan Stanley he was Director of IT infrastructure and technology service delivery for Wells Fargo Securities and Director of global technology production support for Wachovia’s Corporate and Investment Bank.
Before making the jump to financial services Bob spent 22 years at IBM Corporation in the US and Europe in various technology infrastructure roles including cloud, grid and high performance computing, business intelligence and data mining, and large systems design and development. His roles also included large systems product introduction programs helping global enterprises adopt and leverage new and emerging technologies.
He earned a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from Marist College and more recently attained an MBA from Wake Forest University.
